About our skips
Our main aim is to provide a reliable service and we endeavour to
provide the skip at a time to suit you. We are happy to provide
timed deliveries within an hour timeframe. For local deliveries in
most circumstances we can offer a same day service depending on
availability.
We
normally provide a skip for one week but this can be extended to 4
weeks upon request subject to availability. We do ask that once you
have finished with the skip that you telephone us to arrange for
collection and we usually require 24 hours notice. Where a skip is
placed on the public highway we provide the necessary cones &
lights.
In
order to comply with recent environmental legislation you must not
place asbestos based products, foodstuffs, fridges/freezers, tyres,
batteries or fluorescent tubes in the skip.
Permits
The law requires that all skips placed on the public highway must
have a permit which is issued by the local authority. We arrange
permits for our customers as part of our service. Permit charges
vary depending on the local authority. Please note that most local
authorities require at least 24 hours notice in order to issue a
permit. Skip permits are valid for one month. If in the rare
circumstance that the local authority are not able to grant a permit
then we can arrange for our driver to wait whilst the skip is being
loaded.
